Forster Women’s Bowling Club fours championship finally has come to a conclusion, with extreme temperatures sending the players off the green in the second round and wet weather not permitting the second round to continue.
Finally last week three rounds were played; one on Wednesday, followed by the semifinal on Thursday, followed by the final on Friday.
Semifinalists was the team of Helen Dean against Barbara James, resulting in a win for Janet Campbell, Gail Robinson, Sue Davis and Barbara James.
The other semifinal saw Claire Fletcher and her girls up against Julie Childs, Debbie Cary, Leanne Burgess and Claire Kelly, with Claire Kelly advancing to the final.
The final on Friday was an interesting game with multiple scores going to both sides during the game.
The winner was Barbara James’ team and the perpetual trophy was presented on the green.
The players were very thankful to the ladies club who supplied lunch and refreshments to both teams.
Ladies are reminded that the next event on the calendar will be the district fours, open and over 60s which begins on Monday, February 13.
Please check the noticeboard to see where your team will be playing on the first day.
